"The rock was still wet. The animal was glistening, like it was still swimming," recalls Hou Xianguang. Hou discovered the unusual fossil while surveying rocks as a paleontology graduate student in 1984, near the Chinese town of Chengjiang. "My teachers always talked about the Burgress Shale animals. ReplyDeletepaleontology is the science of studying the fossils, rocks and remains etc. Being a student of that subject, A, C and D are not related to it's field. He doesn't have to calculate the value of rocks, determine the boundaries of rocks and poll randomly. E is also not possible because conducting a statistical study does not work well with his study.
That's why, while he was examining comprehensively / studying thoroughly the rocks, he discovered unusual fossil unexpectedly.
Hence, B is the most appropriate answer even though all the rest of the answers can define Survey.
